Newly-elected Amman MP Mahseiri dies of heart attack

Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - Newly elected member of parliament Mohammad Elayyan al-Mahseiri passed away early Thursday morning after he was rushed to the hospital on Wednesday night suffering from a severe heart attack.

Al-Mahseiri, who won his seat representing Amman's second district, was rushed to Al Hussein Medical Center, and was put in the Intensive Care Unit to monitor his condition.

Doctors informed the family that Al-Mahseiri's heart failed around 1:00 AM on Thursday.

A funeral will be held from Al Shaheed mosque in Jabal Taj district in eastern Amman. The body will be buried at Sahab cemetery following afternoon prayers on Thursday.

Al-Mahseiri had competed in the recent parliamentary elections, and won a seat representing Amman's second district, earning 5,162 votes.

According to the Constitution, by-elections will be held to fill the vacant seat.
