Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - The National Front for Reform (NFR) on Sunday called for a "national" demonstration later this month in Amman in protest of the government's economic policies.
NFR, a coalition of pro-reform movements headed by ex-Prime Minister Ahmad Obeidat, issued a statement on Sunday calling for a major demonstration under the banner of "popular revolt for reform" on Friday, November 30, 2012, to be held in the area between Firas Circle in Jabal al-Hussein and the Interior Ministry circle (Jamal Abdul Nasser intersection) in Amman.
Following a meeting of NFR's executive office on Sunday, the coalition issued a statement "championing and supporting" Jordanian's protest against price hikes and endemic corruption.
The statement also noted that NFR is preparing for a national dialogue to be held this week in the Professional Associations Complex to discuss the recent hike in prices and its affect on citizens.
NFR also denounced the ongoing Israeli offensive on Gaza, and denounced the "silence of official Arab regimes" towards the aggression.
NFR also announced accepting the membership of Al Hayat Jordanian political party into the coalition.
