Ammon News - AMMONNEWS – Dozens of Jordanian youth of the Orthodox Parish staged a sit-in in front of Ajloun Governorate Building on Saturday in protest of the Patriarch Theofolos III's visit to the city.
Eye -Witnesses told Ammon News that a number of youth blocked the convoy of the Patriarch Theofolos III the Patriarch of Jerusalem as he was entering and exiting the premises to meet the city’s governor.
The crowd held signs and Jordanian flags demanded the Patriarch to take the church’s and the parish’s needs into consideration, demonstrators said.
This visit to the governorate came before the Patriarch headed to Kherbet Al-Wahadna along with his companions for a parish visit where he was welcomed by the Priest of thee Orthodox Churchs, and some guests.
A statement signed by the Ajloun, Anjara and Jerash churches’ committees condemned and un-welcomed the presence of the patriarch before implementing the legitimate demands of the Parish, according to the statement issued Saturday.
