WFP: Only 43% of Gaza aid entered via Jordan in October
The World Food Programme (WFP) said that aid sent from and via Jordan to the Gaza Strip continues to face a significant reduction in its capacity, as 43% of planned shipments crossed into Gaza last October.
In its monthly report, the WFP confirmed that the situation of delivering aid has improved slightly with the increase in the pace of convoys carried out at the end of October and in 2023.
Between November 2023 and October 2024, 2,340 trucks carrying approximately 33,000 metric tons of food and other humanitarian supplies were transported by WFP and the Logistics Cluster from Jordan.
The WFP confirmed that it played a pivotal role in cooperation with the Jordanian government in coordinating and delivering food aid to Gaza and, more recently, to Lebanon.
