Jordan on Thursday sent new 100-truck aid convoy to the people in Gaza, carrying ready-to-eat meals, health packages, tents and blankets, and will be distributed to the people in Gaza via partner associations and organizations.
The aid were sent by the Jordanian Armed Forces - the Arab Army and the Jordan Hashemite Charitable Organization (JHCO) and in cooperation with the World Food Program (WFP), and with the support of Human Appeal, the British Embassy, Islamic Relief - Britain, the Jordanian Concrete Company, the Humanitarian Relief Foundation (IHH), the United Palestinian Appeal, United Hands and the British Charitable Nation.
JHCO's Secretary-General, Hussein Shibli, said that the current circumstances are not easy, especially with regard to the entry and passage of trucks through the crossings, indicating that the continuation of Jordanian humanitarian work to stand by the people in the Gaza Strip is a source of pride and a motive to exert more effort to increase the number of trucks and the volume of aid.
The total number of trucks that have entered the Gaza Strip to date is 4138 trucks, 53 aircraft via El-Arish Airport, 388 airdrops (122 Jordanian landings and 266 landings in cooperation with sisterly and friendly countries) and 8 helicopters, Shibli added.
The JHCO continues to receive cash donations through its bank account at Bank al Etihad No. JO32 UBSI 1030 0000 4010 1659 9151 06 or via the the 'CliQ' service under the name JHCOGAZA, in addition to eFAWATEERCOM and through its official websit, www.jhco.org.jo.
