MPs choose their leader in a setting that is not isolated
There was a significant number of representatives who selected their candidate for Speaker of the House of Representatives outside of the assigned voting booth during the first regular session today, Monday.
Several representatives skipped the voting booth, opting instead to mark their candidate's name near the ballot box and then placing their ballot directly inside.
Both Ahmed Al-Safadi and Saleh Al-Armouti ran for the position of House president, requiring at least half of the votes from attendees plus one in order to secure victory.
