Haaretz: Israeli forces are gearing up to remain in Gaza until end of 2025
According to the Israeli newspaper, Haaretz, the Israeli army is widening roads, building substantial outposts and installing long-term infrastructure, including on roads that used to lead to the Israeli settlements, signaling their intention to remain in the area until at least the end of 2025.
“The work is progressing at full speed. What was a dirt embankment with the rubble of destroyed buildings a few months ago is now a very active construction site. Wide roads are being built, cellular antennas are going up, water, sewage and electricity networks are going in and of course, there are the buildings, some portable and others less so,” said Haaretz.
'The development momentum is in full swing, and the goal – whether it is talked about openly or not – is clear: building the infrastructure for the military's prolonged stay in the field, at least in the first stage,' added Haaretz.
