'Our Jordan is Paradise' Sees Record Participation, Boosts Local Tourism
The 'Our Jordan is Paradise' domestic tourism program, backed by the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities and the Jordan Tourism Board, has achieved a milestone in participant numbers, with 288,000 participants joining since the start of this year more than doubling last year’s figure of 129,000 over the same period.
According to a ministry statement on Thursday, approximately 9,750 buses have transported tourists to various destinations across Jordan, with an equal number of trained guides on board to offer insights into each location. A total of 167 tourism offices, 108 restaurants, and 84 hotels and camps of varying classifications have been engaged with the program to accommodate and enrich visitor experiences.
The ministry further noted that the 'Overnight in Petra and Visit Aqaba the Second Day' initiative attracted 10,000 participants during September and October. This program includes 27 hotels and camps available for overnight stays, allowing for extended visits to these iconic sites.
The 'Our Jordan is Paradise' program aims to boost domestic tourism by offering over 50 percent subsidies on trips to numerous attractions across Jordan’s governorates. Through this initiative, the program seeks to stimulate local tourism, supporting tourism offices, transport operators, guides, craft shops, and various tourism facilities including hotels, restaurants, camps, and four-wheel drive excursions in Wadi Rum.
The program provides modern, safety-equipped buses departing from each governorate to designated sites, with a tourist guide on board to enrich the experience. Additionally, meal provisions are included for each trip.
Offering a range of one-day and overnight trips, the program features destinations in Jordan’s northern, central, and southern regions, including Aqaba, Petra, Wadi Rum, and beyond. Information on available destinations, services, prices, and bookings can be accessed through the 'Jannah.jo' mobile app.
