Jordan's military responds to violations of its airspace appropriately
Dr. Mohammad Al-Momani, Jordan's Government Spokesman, stated that Jordan does not tolerate any efforts to breach its airspace, including the usage of drones that have been entering the country's airspace recently, causing parts to fall inside Jordanian territory.
He noted that two similar incidents happened recently in the governorates of Irbid and Jerash, labeling it as a threat Jordan is handling through military rules and taking necessary actions to address these breaches.
Al-Momani emphasized that the Jordanian Armed Forces - the Arab Army, are actively fulfilling their important role in safeguarding the borders through land, sea, and air operations, utilizing all resources to guarantee the safety of the nation and its people, and will take necessary action against any threats to Jordan's security.
The minister cautioned about growing regional tensions, stating that Jordan will remain neutral and will not permit any party to use its airspace for military purposes.
Al-Momani reiterated the need for regional powers to respect state sovereignty, protect the people, and prevent escalation that hinders peace and justice.
He advised citizens to be cautious in handling the aftermath of regional events by avoiding spreading rumors or sharing unverified photos and videos. It was recommended to follow instructions from military, security, and civilian authorities regarding any objects that may fall to the ground. It was also emphasized to stay away from these objects and the surrounding area as they might have dangerous materials, and to promptly report their location to official authorities for proper handling to ensure public safety.
