Jordan Hosts 13th International Conference on Media and Information Literacy
Under the patronage of His Majesty the King, the 13th Global Media and Information Literacy Week Feature Conference will commence tomorrow, Wednesday.
The event, titled 'The New Digital Frontiers of Information: Media and Information Literacy for Public-Interest Information,' is organized by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) in partnership with the Ministry of Government Communication.
The conference acknowledges Jordan's pioneering role in media and information literacy in the Arab world and its efforts to share its distinguished experience on both regional and Arab levels.
Over the course of two days, the conference will feature five main sessions with more than 30 local, Arab, and international speakers who will discuss the importance of media and information literacy in addressing the rapid changes in the creation, dissemination, and consumption of information, as well as the role of education in enhancing media literacy.
The conference aims to facilitate dialogue, knowledge exchange, and collaboration among key sectors involved in promoting media and information literacy, including governmental bodies, educational institutions, civil society organizations, media platforms, and technology companies.
