307 thousand barrels of Iraqi oil arrived in Jordan in September 2024
Iraq oil exports to Jordan reached nearly 306.8 thousand barrels during last September, according to the quantities agreed upon between the two countries under the Memorandum of Understanding.
The Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources announced the launch of a tender to purchase crude oil transportation services according to the specifications and conditions included in the tender invitation.
The Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources is responsible for transporting crude oil from the loading site in the Republic of Iraq to the site of the Jordanian Petroleum Refinery in Zarqa, in implementation of what was stated in the extension of the Memorandum of Understanding to prepare and supply crude oil from the Republic of Iraq to Jordan, which was signed in July of this year until June 26, 2025.
The Iraqi Ministry of Oil revealed the quantities of crude oil exported for last September, so that the total amount of crude oil exports achieved for last September, according to the final statistics issued by the Iraqi Oil Marketing Company (SOMO), amounted to 99.3 million barrels.
It added that the total quantities of crude oil exported for last September from oil fields in central and southern Iraq amounted to 99.4 million barrels.
It is noteworthy that the value of Jordan's gasoline imports declined in the first 8 months of this year, reaching 33.9 million dinars, compared to 43.1 million dinars recorded in the same period in 2023, with a decline rate of 21%.
The foreign trade report issued by the Department of Statistics revealed that the value of the oil bill paid by Jordan since the beginning of the year until the end of last August decreased by 9% to record 1.8 billion dinars, compared to 1.98 billion dinars recorded in the same period in 2023.
