Jordan condemns Israel's targeting of residential area in Beit Lahia
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates on Sunday condemned the Israeli occupation force's targeting of a residential area in Beit Lahia, north of the Gaza Strip, which resulted in the deaths and injuries of dozens.
The Ministry's official spokesperson, Ambassador Sufyan Qudah, confirmed the Kingdom's absolute rejection and condemnation of Israel's continued violation of the rules of international law and international humanitarian law, and all humanitarian and moral values and principles, in light of the international inability to stop the aggression and the human suffering it causes, and as a result of the absence of real and effective measures to stop these violations, hold those responsible accountable, and end their impunity.
Qudah stressed the need to ensure the protection of civilians, humanitarian facilities and shelters, stressing the need to oblige Israel to stop its continued violations of international law, international humanitarian law, and the Geneva Convention relative to the Protection of Civilian Persons in Time of War of 1949.
He also renewed his call to the international community, especially the UN Security Council, to take strict steps to impose a halt to the war crimes committed by Israel against our Palestinian brothers in the Gaza Strip, which is witnessing an unprecedented humanitarian disaster, and to hold the perpetrators accountable and ensure that they do not escape punishment.
