Foreign Minister begins solidarity visit to Lebanon
Under the directives of His Majesty King Abdullah II, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Ayman Safadi began on Monday a solidarity visit to Lebanon, during which he will meet with Lebanese caretaker Prime Minister Najib Mikati, Lebanese Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri, and Lebanese Army Commander General Joseph Aoun, to discuss efforts to stop the Israeli aggression on Lebanon and ways to support Lebanon in confronting it.
Safadi arrived in Beirut on board a Jordanian Armed Forces-Arab Army plane carrying 13 tons of food, relief supplies, medicine and medical supplies. This is the 7th Jordanian aid plane to arrive in Lebanon under the direction of His Majesty King Abdullah II since September 18, 2024.
During the visit, Safadi affirmed Jordan's absolute solidarity with brotherly Lebanon, its security, stability and the safety of its citizens, condemning the Israeli aggression on Lebanon, and supporting efforts to rebuild Lebanese national institutions.
Safadi stressed the need for the international community to take immediate action to stop the aggression against Lebanon and implement Security Council Resolution 1701 in full.
