Jordanian field hospital for obstetrics, neonatal care expected to be sent to Gaza in mid-November
The Director General of the Royal Medical Services, Brig. Gen. Yousef Zureikat, expects the Jordanian field hospital for obstetrics and neonatal care - Khan Yunis, to be sent to the Gaza Strip in mid-November.
In a press briefing on Thursday, Zureikat said that the hospital in the first of its kind in the world as it is field-based and specialized.
The hospital consists of an operating room, four delivery rooms for left-handed and right-handed deliveries, five resuscitation beds, twenty post-partum beds, ten incubators in the premature babies department, and is equipped with all the supplies of sleeping, feeding, other units and supplements, and a solar energy unit that supports the hospital during normal times and during power outages.
Zureikat pointed out that there are about 50 thousand pregnant women in the Gaza Strip, and there is no hospital specialized in this field due to the war in the Strip.
Under the royal directives and direct supervision of the General Command of the Jordanian Armed Forces - the Arab Army, and in cooperation with the Pious Projects of America Foundation, the Maternity and Premature Infants Hospital in Al Hussein Medical City was equipped.
