JHCO: Jordan is the only relief corridor, lifeline for Gaza
Secretary-General of the Jordanian Hashemite Charity Organization (JHCO), Hussein Shibli, said that Jordan is currently the only relief corridor for the Gaza Strip that supplies the people in the Strip with the necessary materials.
In a statement issued by the organization on Wednesday, Shibli pointed out that the Kingdom is working to bring in various humanitarian aid by sending more than 120 trucks per week through the only land crossing into the Strip.
Jordan has become the real artery for relief to Gaza, as individuals in the Kingdom and international organizations from all over the world turn to the organization, as it is the only entity that can bring aid to the Strip, through coordination and close cooperation with the Jordanian Armed Forces - the Arab Army, he added.
The humanitarian situation in the Gaza Strip has reached a catastrophic level with the closure of other land crossings, which puts great pressure on the only crossing, which needs maintenance work and continuous follow-up to ensure the continuity of its work, he indicated.
Shibli called on the international community and humanitarian organizations to take into consideration logistical support for the entry and delivery of humanitarian aid and to ensure the sustainability of these operations.
In the statement, he stressed the necessity of creating a state of sustainable humanitarian support for the people of the Gaza Strip, ensuring its arrival, distribution, and alleviating their suffering under the current circumstances.
The JHCO remains open to receiving monetary donations through its designated bank account at the Union Bank of Jordan, Al-Wehdat branch. Donations can be made using the following IBAN: JO32 UBSI 1030 0000 4010 1659 9151 06. Additionally, the organization has facilitated the 'CliQ' service under the name JHCOGAZA, as well as electronic payment options, bill payments, exchange offices, and its official website, www.jhco.org.jo.
