FM, Qatari counterpart discuss serious deterioration witnessed by region
Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Ayman Safadi discussed Tuesday with Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the State of Qatar Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani the serious deterioration witnessed by the region as a result of Israel's continued aggression on Gaza and its violations of international law, and the repercussions of the assassination of the head of the Political Bureau of the Islamic Resistance Movement in Palestine (Hamas) Ismail Haniyeh in Tehran last week.
During a phone call, Safadi and Sheikh Mohammed confirmed that stopping the aggression on Gaza represents the first step towards defusing the tension and escalation that threaten to push the entire region towards more conflict and wars.
The two ministers stressed the continuation of coordination, consultation and joint work to stop the aggression on Gaza and end the catastrophe facing the Strip.
