Minister issues decision requiring provision of medical ambulance equipment in workplaces
Minister of Labor, Nadia Rawabdeh, issued a new decision regarding medical aid methods and equipment for workers in private sector establishments.
The Minister's decision comes as a continuation of the Ministry’s efforts to comprehensively modernize the occupational safety and health system, which it began by issuing 3 new occupational safety and health systems and the instructions issued in accordance with them.
Rawabdeh's decision was based on the provisions of Clause (4) of Paragraph (A) of Article (78) of Labor Law No. (8) of 1996 and its amendments, which clarify the duties of the employer to provide medical aid and equipment for workers in the institution in accordance with the levels determined by a decision of the Minister after Polling the opinions of the competent official authorities.
The provisions of this decision apply to private sector establishments, the branches of each institution therein, and the work sites that conduct their economic activity.
The decision obligates the employer to provide medical aid means and equipment for workers in the workplace in proportion to the seriousness of the economic activity and the number of workers in it, taking into account the sources of occupational hazards and those exposed to them.
