FM: Jordan is ready to send 500 trucks to Gaza daily
Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriate Affairs, Ayman Safadi, said on Saturday that the humanitarian catastrophe in the Gaza Strip is worsening without clear-cut solutions.
During his participation in a dialogue session within the conference activities held by the Progressive Alliance and Social Democratic Forum in the Arab World, entitled: 'Understanding the Crisis and Charting Pathways to Peace,' Safadi noted that the Israeli aggression does not serve anyone but rather leads to fueling conflict in the region.
The war on Gaza is a war of revenge against the Palestinian people and the people of the Gaza Strip, Safadi stressed.
He pointed out that this war must end, as Jordan has been making unremitting efforts since the beginning of the aggression to stop the war, bring in humanitarian aid, and launch a real political effort to achieve a comprehensive solution to the conflict.
Jordan is ready to send 500 trucks daily to the Gaza Strip as soon as Israel removes the obstacles it imposes on the entry of aid, he stated.
Safadi pointed out that the United Nations has confirmed that the Gaza Strip needs the entry of no less than 800 trucks pre day to reduce the scale of the humanitarian disaster there.
Israel will not enjoy peace unless the Palestinian people enjoy the peace they deserve, as all international positions have changed, and everyone realizes the absurdity of this war now, the Minister said.
He stressed that we will not accept Jordan being an arena for conflict between Iran and Israel.
