Real Madrid slap €60 million price tag on Diaz amid transfer interest
Even though he has not always been a regular starter this season, Brahim Diaz has emerged as one of Real Madrid’s most crucial players so far in 2023/24.
Back after a three-year loan spell at AC Milan, the 24-year-old has made his return count, racking up nine goals and five assists in 34 appearances (17 starts).
The lack of attacking depth at the Bernabeu, coupled with injury problems that Vinicius Jr. and Jude Bellingham have had at times, have enabled Brahim to get minutes and make the most of his chances.
However, competition for places is set to grow next season with Kylian Mbappe and Endrick set to arrive.
As such, there have been some questions about Brahim’s future, with certain clubs across Europe taking an interest in the Moroccan international.
Real Madrid value Brahim at €60 million
Amidst the growing interest in Brahim, El Debate (h/t SPORT) reports that Real Madrid value the versatile attacking midfielder at €60 million.
Brahim has shown that he puts game-time above all and as such there could be a scenario wherein he might ask to leave if he feels uncertain about his minutes at the Santiago Bernabeu next season.
Furthermore, he has one of the lowest salaries in the Merengues’ squad, with the report stating that he earns €8 million per year gross, which puts him in the 19th place in the list of highest salaries.
At 24, a move away would help him earn a bigger pay packet as well, and as such, in case he decides to go down that route, Real Madrid would demand €60 million for him.
Arsenal are understood to be one of the clubs interested in signing Brahim from Real Madrid and the Gunners would have the financial wherewithal to meet the Merengues’ asking price.
