Prime Minister Bisher Khasawneh received on Sunday a US Senators delegation currently visiting Jordan.
Khasawneh stressed the strategic relations between Jordan and the United States, praising the support provided by the United States to Jordan, which contributed to supporting Jordan's development efforts.
During the meeting, which was attended by the US Ambassador to Jordan, Yael Lambert, Khasawneh pointed out the support and aid provided by the United States to Jordan.
The Prime Minister also stressed the positive role played by the US Congress, both Senate and Representatives, in supporting Jordan and its development efforts.
He reviewed the comprehensive modernization project implemented by Jordan under the leadership of His Majesty King Abdullah II in the political, economic and administrative fields.
Khasawneh briefed the delegation on the tireless efforts being made by His Majesty King Abdullah II to ensure the cessation of the Israeli aggression against Gaza, to reach an immediate cessation of the aggression, and to deliver urgent humanitarian and medical aid to the people of the Gaza Strip, he also pointed out to the multiple airdrops of aid carried out by Jordan to Gaza the brothers in Gaza, alone, and in cooperation with friendly countries, including the United States.
The Prime Minister stressed the importance of supporting the UNRWA, given the important role it plays in providing basic services to the people of the Gaza Strip and in its areas of operations in the West Bank, Jordan, Syria and Lebanon.
