Mom-of-12 spends $400 week on groceries to feed her family
A mom-of-12 says she spends a whopping $400 a week on groceries to feed her family — but doesn’t regret having an enormous (and enormously expensive) brood.
Britni Church, 35, gave an insight into the costs of raising 12 children in a new interview with Southwest News Service, revealing that she works as a cake decorator to make ends meet.
“I feel very blessed to be a mom,” the Wichita, Kansas resident declared. “I’m happy with my life – not everyone is going to like that. I don’t regret anything.”
Church first fell pregnant at the age of 15, welcoming her first daughter, Crizman, in 2004.
She went on to have Jordan, 17, Caleb, 16, Jace, 15, and Cadence, 13, with her now ex-husband.
After the split, Church had another daughter Jesalyn, now 11, with a different partner.
The single mom-of-six thought she was done having children until she met her now-hubby Chris, 32, while working at a factory.
The couple have six children together: Silas, 8, Christopher, 7 , triplets Oliver, Asher and Abel, 4, and Rowyn, 2.
Church says to keep her household running smoothly she does 21 loads of washing a week and goes through about 80 diapers.
In addition to her big food bill, she also forks out ample cash for her kid’s birthday and Christmas presents.
She says she can spend up to $100 for each of her children’s birthday gifts, totaling $1200 annually.
The mama also spares no expense making sure her family has festive Christmases, spending $4000 each December on presents, food and decorations.
“We try to do something special,” Church explained.
The mom documents her hectic life on social media, where she has been subject to cruel commentary from trolls.
“People say ‘Why don’t you have abortions?’ or ‘Close your legs’… It’s very gross stuff,” she admitted.
But Church is content with her life as it is — and has no plans for baby number 13.
“After Rowyn we were done,” she explained. “I was like ‘I’m tired’. I felt at peace.”
