Justice Minister: Jordan provides ICJ with necessary evidence of Israel's brutality
Justice Minister Ahmed Zyadat delivered a speech on Thursday during Jordan's plea before the International Court of Justice (ICJ) in The Hague, which included Israeli violations in the occupied Palestinian territories.
In his speech, Zyadat confirmed that Jordan provided the court with the necessary evidence of Israel's brutality.
'Preserving the historical status quo in Jerusalem is the key to peace,' he said.
'Jordan and the Hashemite Royal family have a special role as the custodian of the Muslim and Christian holy sites in Jerusalem, and Jordan administers the affairs of the muslin holy sites in Jerusalem including their maintenance, and restorations,' the minister added.
He also stressed that His Majesty King Abdullah II is the custodian for protecting the holy places.
The minister pointed out that Israel has attacked Palestinian religious and historical places throughout history, and Christians have become direct targets of Israeli attacks.
