Civil Defense warns of "Silent Killer" .. What is it?
The Civil Defense Directorate /Public Security Directorate (PSD) warned on Wednesday of the danger of carbon dioxide gas, or the “Silent Killer”, which the danger of this gas lies in its lack of smell and color, its interaction with red blood cells, its abandonment of oxygen and its combination with the gas.
Gas is formed in the winter, due to igniting heating devices without leaving room for ventilation, the Civil Defense Directorate said in a post on Facebook.
It also warned that the danger of this gas lies when it enters the human body, causing paralysis of the nerves and limbs.
It is possible for poisoning with this dangerous gas to occur as a result of a leak from a gas cylinder in the home, so ventilation must be maintained as an important element for protection and prevention, the directorate noted.
