Rain forecast until Monday, Cyprus depression accompanied by snow on Tuesday
The Kingdom will remain under influence of a cold, humid air mass and rain is forecast to fall in Jordan's northern and central regions and southwestern areas, Jordan Meteorological Department (JMD) said.
In its report, the JMD said downpour will be heavy in the morning hours and may be accompanied by thunder and hail, amid warnings of danger of torrential rains and rising water levels in valleys and low-lying areas, including the Dead Sea region.
The JMD referred to a weak possibility in the early morning hours of light flurries of snow over southern Al-Sharah Mountains, which are more than 1,600 meters above sea level, for a short period.
The JMD also warns of the risk of low horizontal visibility, especially over mountainous areas due to fog and low clouds.
On Sunday and Monday, the weather will be cold and foggy almost countrywide with showers of rain forecast in the Kingdom's northern and central regions and limited parts of the southwestern regions.
Also today, temperatures in the capital Amman will hit a high of 9 degrees Celsius and a low of 4C, while the port city of Aqaba will see a fair 21C during the day, sliding to 12C degrees at night. Petra
