46,362 students from 111 countries study in Jordanian universities
The Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research said in a date that the number of international students studying in Jordanian higher education institutions for the academic year 2023-2024, in all grades, reached 46,362 male and female students from 111 countries around the world, representing 12% of the total number of students.
According to the data seen by Ammon, the number of foreign students studying in public Jordanian universities reached 19,495 male and female students, compared to 25,738 male and female students in private universities, and 1,129 in community colleges.
87% of foreign students, 40,271 male and female students, are studying for a bachelor’s degree, compared to 8%, meaning 3,528 male and female students, studying for postgraduate studies, and 5%, meaning 2,563 male and female students, studying for an intermediate diploma.
The data showed that the highest percentage of foreign students' nationalities is Palestinian, followed by Syrian, Egyptian, Iraqi, Kuwaiti, and Omani.
