Jordanian-Palestinian coordination to restore internet, communications to Gaza
Minister of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship, Ahmed Hanandeh, confirmed on Wednesday that Jordan has addressed the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) regarding the communications and Internet outage in the besieged Gaza Strip, which has been subjected to Israeli aggression since October 7, 2023 until the moment.
The Palestinian Telecommunications Company (Jawwal) announced, at dawn on Wednesday, a complete interruption of all communications and Internet services in the besieged Gaza Strip.
Hananda told Al-Mamlaka TV channel that it is not permissible to cut off communications and the Internet in any way, since rescue teams and the civilian population depend mainly on communications services, which are considered an essential service and not a luxury.
There is Jordanian-Palestinian coordination to support the Palestinian position regarding the Internet and communications outage in the Gaza Strip, Hanandeh said, explaining that this effort is continuing with the announcement of a second communications and Internet outage in the Gaza Strip.
