Jordanian Baptist Church condemns occupation's targeting of innocent civilians
The head of the Jordanian Baptist Church, Rev Nabeeh Abbasi, condemned Wednesday the Israeli occupation aircraft targeting innocent civilians who were found in the courtyards of the Baptist Hospital in Gaza.
'We in the Jordanian Baptist Church received news of the targeting of the former Baptist hospital in Gaza, which is currently owned and managed by the Arab Evangelical Episcopal Church, and which was targeted in a brutal Israeli raid on innocent civilians,' Abbasi said in a statement, a copy of which was received by Ammon.
He explained that innocent civilians had taken to the hospital as a shelter from the Israeli raids, but Israeli policy does not distinguish between civilians and military personnel and targets everyone, Christians and Muslims, under the pretext of their Arabism and adherence to their homeland.
'We, as a denomination of the Baptist Church, emphasize the necessity of listening to the voice of wisdom and rational international policy led by His Majesty King Abdullah II, who always calls for the right of the Palestinian people to establish their independent state with East Jerusalem as its capital, along the entire borders of June 4, 1967,' Abbasi added.
The Jordanian Baptist Church tried to contact the Baptist Church and the National Evangelical Hospital, but all attempts failed, he noted.
Abbasi concluded by saying that the Jordanian Baptist Church raises its prayers to God to fill the hearts of the families of the victims with condolences in this great affliction, and they pray with united and lifted hearts to the Lord of Heaven to spare the blood and establish security and peace in the land of peace, beloved Palestine.
