Southern Military Zone thwarts three people illegal infiltration attempt
The Southern Military Zone on Tuesday thwarted the attempt of three people to infiltrate borders at one of its border fronts.
An official military source in the General Command of the Jordan Armed Forces-Arab Army (JAF) said that rapid response patrols were deployed and rules of engagement were applied, which led to the arrest of three infiltrators, who belong to different nationalities, Turkish, Azerbaijani and Georgian one, who was found in a coma, while the first aid was provided to him and he was taken to Prince Ali Bin Al-Hussein Hospital, but he was found dead.
The other two people were transferred to the competent authorities, he added.
The source stressed that JAF will deal 'firmly' with these attempts to protect Jordan's borders and prevent any infiltration or smuggling operations and will be vigilant to foil any endeavour to tamper with Jordan's national security.
