Petra city launches "Tethered balloon" on Wednesday
The city of Petra will launch Wednesday the 'tethered balloon', which will be a qualitative addition and a new tourism product that will generate income for the local community and provide job opportunities, according to Chief Commissioner of Petra Development and Tourism Region Authority (PDTRA) Suleiman Farajat.
Farajat said that the balloon belongs to a local investor who obtained all approvals to start work, indicating that it achieves the highest levels of safety.
The balloon can accommodate about 30 people and will provide special prices for Jordanians, Farajat added.
He pointed out that the balloon is fixed at a specific location and rises to about 300 meters, which provides a panoramic view of the city and he encouraged Jordanians to visit Petra and try the balloon.
