Lower House Speaker, Ahmed Safadi, and his accompanying parliamentary delegation on Sunday arrived in the Saudi capital, Riyadh.
The delegation was received at King Khalid bin Abdulaziz Airport, by Speaker of the Saudi Shura Council (SSC), Abdullah Al Sheikh.
According to a House statement, Safadi affirmed the 'depth' of the Jordanian-Saudi relations under the leadership of His Majesty King Abdullah II and Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz, expressing aspiration to enhance joint parliamentary cooperation to serve common interests and the central Arab issues.
Speaking at the reception ceremony, Al Sheikh welcomed Safadi and the accompanying delegation, hoping that this visit would contribute to strengthening bilateral relations, especially the parliamentary ties between Jordan's Parliament and SSC, to realize aspirations of the two kingdoms' leaderships.
Safadi met with officials of Riyadh Chamber of Commerce (RCC), which brings under its umbrella 35 trade chambers.
Talks went over importance of joint cooperation between Jordanian and Saudi trade chambers and ways to exchange mutual expertise, the statement said.
During the meeting, Safadi invited RCC's administration to visit Jordan in a bid to enhance trade exchange.
For their part, RCC's officials affirmed their keenness on boosting joint cooperation and benefiting from Jordan's expertise in the health, tourism and infrastructure sectors.
Safadi and Al Sheikh are scheduled to hold official talks Monday at the SSC's headquarters, aimed to enhance parliamentary cooperation.
