Rise in temps forecast on Thursday with dusty conditions over weekend
The weather across Jordan is forecast to take a turn towards the warm side on Thursday, with temperatures rising countrywide, while the Jordan Valley, the Dead Sea, and Aqaba are expected to be relatively hot, the Jordan Meteorological Department (JMD) said in its daily update.
Winds will be southeasterly moderate, picking up at times and stirring dust in the Badia.
On Friday, weather conditions are set to get even warmer, with temperatures expected to climb 7-8 degrees above the annual average. This comes with a warning of dry, hot, and dusty climate, and mid-to-high-level clouds, the JMD added.
However, relief from the heat is on the way as a pleasant and humid air mass is expected to affect the Kingdom on Saturday, causing temperatures to drop significantly. The weather will be pleasantly hot in the heights and plains, and relatively warm in the rest of the regions.
Today's peak temperatures will be between 30 and 28 degrees Celsius in Amman and various highlands throughout the Kingdom, with lows of 16 or even 14 degrees in the southern highlands at night. The gulf city of Aqaba will have warmer weather, with highs of 36C and lows of 25C.
