FM meets UN general assembly head over cooperation, region
Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Ayman Safadi received President of the United Nations General Assembly Csaba Korosi on Tuesday for talks over cooperation and regional developments.
Safadi and Korosi stressed the importance of cooperation between the Kingdom and the UN's institutions in many developmental and humanitarian domains, particularly the efforts to provide a decent life for refugees.
The two officials also tackled regional issues, chief of which is the Palestinian cause, as well as efforts to reach a political solution to the Syrian crisis.
Safadi briefed Korosi on the obstacles and challenges hindering the re-launch of serious and effective negotiations to achieve a just and lasting peace to the Palestinian cause based on the two-state solution in accordance with international legitimacy resolutions.
He spoke about the outcomes of an Amman consultative meeting on the Syrian crisis held yesterday, launching a new Arab-led political path to solve the crisis and address all its humanitarian, security, and political ramifications.
