Fayez confirms readiness of King Hussein International Airport, crossings to receive Aqaba visitors
President of the Aqaba Special Economic Zone Authority (ASEZA), Nayef Fayez, on Thursday confirmed the readiness of King Hussein International Airport, border crossings, and customs centers during the Eid Al-Fitr.
In a statement, Fayez stressed the significance of speeding up and facilitating entry procedures, and granting visas to foreign tourists who want to spend the Eid holiday in Aqaba, noting that the airport is witnessing an active movement in receiving low-cost flights from various European countries.
'The airport deals with 6 international airlines linking it with 22 capitals and cities in Europe, which transported about 228 thousand passengers in 2022,' he indicated.
Fayez also checked on the workflow and services at the Wadi Araba and the Wadi Al-Yatam customs centers and the movement of trucks and goods into and out of the port city of Aqaba, calling for better services and facilities for travelers.
