Authorities to beef up market monitoring during Eid holiday
The Ministry of Industry, Trade and Supply prepared an action plan to monitor local markets during Eid Al-Fitr holiday, which beefs up monitoring campaigns on various economic sectors.
According to the plan, market observers are scheduled to start working in all the Kingdom's governorates on the second day of Eid vacation, focusing on sectors of importance to consumers, especially bakeries, dessert and garment shops, restaurants, fuel stations, electrical and household appliances stores, and butcheries.
In a statement on Wednesday, the ministry said the 'intensive' monitoring drive on the markets will continue during Eid holiday, and will take all legal measures against violators.
The ministry also called on citizens to report market grievances on its number: 065661176, stressing that it will deal with complaints 'immediately' and take legal measures in this regard.
