Cold, wet air mass to continue affecting Kingdom Wednesday
The Kingdom on Wednesday is forecast to be affected by a cold and wet air mass accompanied by a depression, pushing temperatures 9-10 degrees below the annual average, and triggering cold, cloudy, and rainy conditions across much of the country, the Jordan Meteorological Department (JMD) said in its daily update.
Heavy rain is expected in the western area along with thunder and hail, while strong westerly winds will spread dust in the eastern Badia, the JMD added.
The weather department issued warnings about slick roads in rainy areas, flash floods in low-lying areas and valleys, and limited horizontal visibility in the highlands due to fog.
A modest rise in mercury levels is expected on Thursday, but most areas will continue to have cold, cloudy, and rainy conditions, while winds will be westerly active and blowing dust in the Badia.
Pleasant and sunny weather will make a comeback on Friday and Saturday, with temperatures rising further and northwesterly to northeasterly moderate winds.
Today, temperatures in the capital Amman will range between a high of 11 degrees Celsius and a low of 5C at night, while the port city of Aqaba will see a fair 21C, sliding to 15C at night.
