Jordan, Turkiye cooperate in archival documentation, tourism
The Royal Hashemite Documentation Center signed a cooperation protocol on Monday with Turkiye to exchange archival documents and enhance the skills of Ottoman language archivers.
The protocol was signed by the Center's Director-General Muhannad Mubaideen and Director of States Archives of the Presidency of Turkiye Ugur Unal.
The agreement stipulates strengthening cooperation and conducting research according to each party's legislation by exchanging samples of archiving documents, experiences, and publications and organizing meetings and exhibitions on archiving systems, according to a statement.
Minister of Tourism Makram Qaisi met with Unal on Sunday to discuss cooperation in maintaining and restoring archival materials, exchanging expertise and developing services in tourist and archaeological sites.
The two officials also tackled means of maintenance and restoration of the 25 Hejaz Railway stations and the 15 Ottoman castles in Jordan.
Qaisi affirmed the deep Jordanian-Turkish relations and commitment to enhancing cooperation in the tourism and archaeological domain.
