Police on Tuesday arrested a man who confessed to killing his father in a family dispute in the city of Zarqa, the Public Security Directorate's media spokesman said.
He said police were tipped off that the body of the 50-year-old father was lying in his house in the Zarqa City commercial center and found that he was shot twice and died instantly.
After piecing together information from the crime scene, suspicion fell on the victim's son, who was arrested and confessed that he shot his father over family disputes and the weapon was seized, he said.
He said a team of the Zarqa police and criminal police was assigned to investigate the incident before sending the case to judicial authorities.
