UK development minister in Amman on British support
Minister of Social Development (MoSD) Wafaa Bani Mustafa and the UK development minister, Andrew Mitchell, Wednesday met in Amman on the UK support for social protection to support Jordan combat COVID-19.
Bani Mustafa talked about the 'importance' of supporting social protection over the next five years and the UK technical support to the National Aid Fund (NAF).
Mitchell commended Jordan's efforts in social protection and its efforts in hosting refugees and supporting them.
Bani Mustafa had participated in the launch of support provided by the British government to finance the second phase of the national plan to activate Security Council Resolution 1325 on women, security and peace.
She noted women's 'important' role in peacemaking and negotiations on the front lines during crises.
The UK ambassador in Amman, Bridget Brind, joined the meeting.
