House Economy committee okays multiple amendments to 2022 Companies Law
The Lower House Economy and Investment Committee approved a number of articles of 2022 Companies Law.
During its meeting on Sunday, chairman, the committee's head, MP Omar Naber, in the presence of the Minister of State for Legal Affairs, Nancy Namrouqa and stakeholders, said lawmakers continued to debate the draft law and okayed the necessary amendments in this regard.
On its goals, Naber said the draft aims to facilitate and streamline procedures related to corporate business, which would spare time, effort and costs for company shareholders and contribute to enhancing competitiveness of the Kingdom's business environment.
Also, Naber added that the bill helps to attract foreign investments and ensure stability of legislation for venture capital companies, which would advance Jordan's economic development, support small and medium companies and startups and achieve legislative harmony for doing business, including insolvency and securities laws. //Petra// AG
