Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriate Affairs Ayman Safadi said, on Wednesday, that 'Jordan stands side by side with Syria after the earthquake.'
Safadi added, in statements from Damascus, 'We are in a humanitarian moment in which the brotherly Syrian people are suffering, and our aim is to stand by them.'
The coming days will witness more Jordanian aid to Syria, Safadi stated.
He also stressed that Jordan is Keen, under the leadership of His Majesty King Abdullah II, to provide all aid to Syria.
For his part, Syrian Foreign Minister Fayssal Mikdad affirmed that his country highly appreciates Safadi's visit to Damascus, because it comes at the right time after an earthquake hit the Syrian provinces.
Mikdad expressed his gratitude for the Jordanian aid, saying: 'We have been cooperating for a long time, but we highly appreciate this visit because it comes at the right time, as Syria suffered during the past days from the earthquake disaster.'
