Dust storm reduces visibility to zero on desert road, says PSD
The Public Security Directorate (PSD) said Tuesday that the desert highway from Al-Abyad to Al-Hasa Bridge was sealed due to heavy dust that reduced visibility to zero as a weather system expected to deepen in the next hours.
It called on motorists to take extra precautions and follow weather forecasts as the low pressure system that brought heavy downpours and snow across the Kingdom is forecast to strengthen, amid warnings of fog and low horizontal visibility, sliding roads and flash floods.
The PSD also urged the public to steer clear from valleys and advised those living in low-lying areas, tents ore mobile homes to move to higher grounds due to flash floods and torrents.
It also urged the public to closely cooperate with public security personnel on roads, follow instructions issued by the PSD and other concerned authorities and call emergency rooms when needed.
