Communications minister, Arab League senior official talk communications coordination
Minister of Government Communication Faisal Shboul and Head of the Media and the Communication Sector of the Arab League, Ahmed Khattabi, Saturday held talks in Amman on enhancing coordination on communications.
During the meeting, Shboul noted the 'importance' of cooperation and coordination between Jordan and the Arab League regarding strengthening and developing the joint Arab media framework and what Jordan is doing within the Council of Arab Information Ministers.
He talked about the challenges facing media and communication that come in the form of social media and modern media platforms, whether on the public, Arab content and the issues of the Arab nation.
Shboul noted the draft law submitted by Jordan to the pan-Arab organisation to regulate the flow of information from international media companies, adding that the draft law aims to set controls for Arab content published on social media, foremost of which is the Palestinian cause.
In turn, Khattabi praised Jordan's hosting of Arab media forums and meetings through coordination and consultation with the media and communication sector in the Arab League.
The meeting came on the sidelines of the Arab Media Forum and was organised by the League of Arab States.
