House speaker affirms 'open' policy to facilitate media mission
Lower House Speaker Ahmed Safadi said Parliament will keep its doors open to various media outlets, as partner in monitoring on diverse aspects of Jordan's public affairs.
Speaking on Sunday, with a number of media representatives accredited to report House's activities, Safadi noted the House is 'keen' to overcome obstacles facing the media and provide various aspects of support and facilitations necessary to facilitate journalists' work.
In addition, Safadi urged various media outlets to convey the truth and accurate information to the public.
Safadi instructed House's General Secretariat to follow up on the journalists' affairs, facilitate their tasks, and provide all forms of logistical support necessary to enable media carry out their duties 'fully.'
Safadi also highlighted importance of the reporter's observations and suggestions to organize their mission to cover House deliberations.
For his part, President of Jordan Press Association (JPA) appreciated the House's step to maintain continuous consultation with JPA to overcome any obstacles facing journalists' work in covering House's activities, stressing that the media constitutes an 'effective and influential' means of monitoring.
