Lower House Speaker Ahmed Safadi on Wednesday met with head of the Iraqi National Wisdom Movement, Ammar al-Hakim, and head of the Supreme Judicial Council in Iraq, Faiq Zaidan.
During two separate meetings, in the presence of heads of the parliamentary blocs and Jordan Ambassador to Iraq, Montaser Al-Uqla, Safadi conveyed the greetings of His Majesty King Abdullah to al-Hakim and Zaidan.
Safadi reaffirmed Jordan's supportive position, led by His Majesty King Abdullah, for all efforts aimed at strengthening the security and stability of Iraq as a fundamental pillar of the region's security and stability.
For his part, al-Hakim said that Jordan is paying the price for its firm stances towards the Palestinian cause, stressing its support to the Hashemite Custodianship over Islamic and Christian holy sites in Jerusalem.
'We have good relations with Jordan, and with His Majesty the King, who is a descendant of Banu Hashim. Today, we must work to strengthen cooperation between the two brotherly countries, with real actions on the ground, as we have opportunities for joint cooperation in many fields,' al-Hakim added.
In turn, Zidan voiced Iraqis' appreciation for the Jordanian positions under the leadership of His Majesty King Abdullah, which has been providing various forms of support to Iraq, stressing that Jordan has remained a safe haven for Iraqis in times of crisis.
