Social Development Minister, UK envoy discuss social welfare cooperation
Minister of Social Development, Wafaa Bani Mustafa, and British Ambassador to Jordan, Bridget Brind, on Sunday discussed ways of joint cooperation in the social welfare field.
The meeting covered ways to provide technical support to the Ministry of Social Development, especially with regard to shelters, which provide integrated and distinctive services.
Bani Mustafa said that social protection requires great support and continuous follow-up on services provided to beneficiaries.
She highlighted to the ministry's efforts on enhancing social protection and shelters, and to efforts of the National Aid Fund to graduate beneficiaries by training their children to become workers and able to provide for their families.
For her part, the British envoy said that social protection is a priority to her country's government, voicing readiness to complement existing programs, especially in social protection and women's empowerment fields.
Brind highlighted programs that her country's government intends to implement on social protection field, especially for the most vulnerable groups of women and people with disabilities.
