Electrical system set high records at rate exceeding 10%
The chairman of the Board of Commissioners of the Energy and Minerals Regulatory Commission (EMRC), Ziyad Saaida, said on Sunday that the electrical system set records during the current weather conditions, and reached 3299 megawatts on Friday evening, which is more than 10% higher than its rate at this time of the year.
In a press statement, he added that the EMRC has addressed the sector companies to take the necessary measures to ensure that citizens are provided with their electric power needs and to deal immediately with any complaints or communications received.
Saaida called on citizens to rationalize the consumption of electric energy to avoid high loads, and to increase the value of the electricity bill in the event of high consumption.
He called also to report any interruption in the provision of service through the commission's monitoring and emergency center.
