Cold weather on Saturday, rain showers expected in north regions
Weather will be cold on Saturday and rain showers are forecast during the morning hours in the northern regions that could be heavy for a short period, Jordan Meteorological Department (JMD) said in its daily brief.
Meanwhile, the Kingdom's central and eastern regions will witness light showers with westerly, moderate winds.
In its report, the JMD warns of the risk of fog formation in the morning hours, especially over hilltops and slippery roads in areas that witness downpour in the country's northern and central areas.
On Sunday, the weather will be cold almost nationwide and pleasant in the Jordan Valley, the Dead Sea, and Aqaba, with a slight possibility of light showers in the Kingdom's northern areas in the morning hours.
As for Monday, the Kingdom will be gradually affected by an air depression centered on Egypt's northern coasts, accompanied by a cold and moist air mass, and rain often falls almost nationwide, which will be heavy in the afternoon hours for limited periods, accompanied by thunder and hail in some areas. However, the chance of rain becomes weak at night hours.
Temperatures in Amman today will hit 13 degrees Celsius, dipping to 5C at night, while the port city of Aqaba will see a fair 22C, sliding to 11C during night hours.
