Cold weather, rain showers to prevail on Wednesday
The weather on Wednesday is expected to be cold and cloudy with scattered showers in various parts of the Kingdom, mainly the eastern and southern regions, the Jordan Meteorological Department (JMD) said in its daily brief.
Rainfall is expected to be heavy accompanied by thunderstorms and hail at times, the JMD added. Snow showers mixed with rain are also predicted in the northeastern Badia area near the Iraqi border.
The JMD warned of poor horizontal visibility in the highlands and the Badia due to fog formation, slippery roads in areas experiencing rain, and of flash floods in valleys and lowlands.
Over the next two days, cold conditions will persist in most parts of the country, except in the Jordan Valley, the Dead Sea and Aqaba where it will be pleasant, with low clouds, the forecasters said.
Today, temperatures in Amman will range hit a high of 10C, dipping to 4C, while the port city of Aqaba will see a fair 22C, sliding to 12C at night.
