48 mln cubic meters of water in Jordan dams, with rate of 17%
The quantities of water stored in the kingdom's dams have increased to 48 million cubic meters, according to the Ministry of Water and Irrigation.
The ministry said that the volume of rainfall during the current rainy season amounted to 35.4% of the general average, noting that the volume of rain that entered dams and valleys during the past 24 hours amounted to about 1.4 million cubic meters.
Precipitation concentrated in the Tannour Dam in northern Tafileh, about 772,000 cubic meters, raising the total storage in the dams to 48 million cubic meters, or 17% of their total capacity of 280,760 million cubic meters.
The ministry explained that the highest rate of precipitation was recorded during the past 24 hours in Qasr Tuba in Zarqa Governorate, with 4.4 mm.
