The Kingdom is expected to remain under the impact of unstable weather conditions, with cold and partly cloudy weather, and scattered showers in the southern and eastern regions, extending later to cover other areas, the Jordan Meteorological Department (JMD) said in its forecast for Tuesday.
At night, rainfall is expected to be heavy, mainly in the southern and eastern parts of the country, with thunder storms, lightning and hail at times, causing flash floods in valleys and lowlands, while winds will be southeasterly brisk, the JMD added.
The department warned of poor horizontal visibility in the highlands and the Badia due to fog formation and dust, slippery roads in areas experiencing rain, and of floods in valleys and lowlands.
Toward Wednesday, a slight drop in temperatures is expected, bringing chilly weather with cloudy skies and occasionally heavy downpours accompanied by thunder and hail in the eastern cities, the JMD further said.
'The northeastern Badia area is forecast to witness snow showers that may mix with rain at times,' forecasters predicted.
Temperatures in the capital Amman today will hit 10 degrees Celsius, dipping to 5C at night, while the port city of Aqaba will see a fair 24C, sliding to 13C at night.
